Friday morning - mourns

After a night full of giggling and laughing, the morning has been quite a different story. In addition to learning that Jia is not a morning person, Jia is dealing with grief. She has been quite sad so far today. She will have moments of happiness, but then slip into a period of sobbing. It is really sad to watch, but we know this and are holding on to this truth:
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them". Romans 8:28 NLT
It's amazing to ponder the thought of how everything in her life, her biological parents life and so forth matched up with everything in my life and Sarah's life for us to meet up as a family. It is simply so complex. It's not by chance but God's will-no doubt. A masterful plan. Thank you Lord!

Jia is ready for a family; one that won't leave her, it's impossible right now to communicate that to her or anyway for her to comprehend - even if it could be communicated.

So today were gonna take it easy. Right now she is napping on Sarah's lap and when she awakes we'll figure out what to do. Tomorrow if she is doing better and is up to it, we may go out for the day. We'll see.

That just breaks my heart. Isn't it so sad when you think about all the little changes our babies go through and all the loss they suffer at such a young age? I remember learning about that in those adoption classes! This is just a season and she will soon see you guys are mommy and daddy and are here to stay! God has a great plan for her life and for yours! Miss you guys and love you!

In time, she will forget. You will never forget, but she will and hopefully there is comfort in that. I'm thinking about life and death and how in life, we want her to forget so she can move forward with her new family and we don't want her to experience the grief and mourning. She's too little and too precious and shouldn't have to deal with that. But in death, how different that becomes. When someone dies, we don't want to forget, but sometimes we do forget, and then we are overcome by guilt because we've forgotten or haven't thought about soemeone for awhile, yet that's what we all need in order to heal...in life and in death. I'm babbling and there's just no way for me to put in words everything that is going through my head right now. Imagine when she is sleeping that Jesus is laying next to her and she's wrapped in his arms. We love you guys so much and although far away are going through this with you, too. Love, Carla
